Marina Taina – Tahiti
Als wir unseren obligatorischen Nachmittagskaffee auf der Fly trinken, kommt Maria von der SY Itchy Feet bei uns vorbei und lädt uns zum Sundowner ein. Gerne sagen wir zu. Anschließend kommt der Tender (Beiboot) der SY Hemisphere vorbei und hält bei uns. Von der SY Hemisphere haben wir schon früher in unserem Blog berichtet. Mit 44 Meter Länge ist sie der größte Segelkatamaran der Welt (www.sy-hemisphere.com). Der Bordingenieur der Hemisphere macht mit Frau, Kind und Baby einen kleinen Hafenausflug. Er erzählt uns, daß auch er später einmal um die Welt segeln will und sich deshalb für unser Schiff interessiert. Wir plaudern eine Weile und verabreden uns mit Oscar und Sara für den nächsten Tag.
Helena ruft, sie hat Pizza gebacken und wir nehmen noch schnell einen kleinen Snack, bevor wir uns zum Sundowner zu Alex und Maria aufmachen. Auf dem Weg dorthin kommen wir an dem Schiff vorbei, das heute neu auf den Ankerplatz gekommen ist. Wir grüßen und sehen dann auf den Schiffsnamen und Heimathafen. SY Frieda aus Hamburg. Da drehen wir doch sofort eine kleine Schleife und begrüßen das 5. deutsche Boot im Ankerfeld. Der Ankerplatz ist somit fest in deutscher Hand. Evi und Frank sind sehr sympathisch, aber wir müssen die spontane Einladung zum Sundowner leider ablehen, da wir ja schon auf dem Weg zu einem sind. Aber dafür kommen sie uns morgen vormittag auf einen Kaffee besuchen. Der Abend mit Maria und Alex wird sehr nett und sie haben noch Bier aus Panama!

We continue to follow your blog and find your journey very inspiring. You have made great progress since we parted company in the northwest Bahamas. We continue to have such great memories of our time with you all. We are glad that you have all remained safe and judging from the photos in your blogs, you all appear very healthy which is good news. Tahiti looks wonderful.
Courtney is now in her first year of univeristy and taking a business management degree at the University of British Columbia. Olivia is in grade 11 and finds school very boring and would much rather be back living on a yacht or sailing catamaran. Christina and I continue to look forward to the day we buy or next catamaran and for when we can sail off and away again. Not too much longer we hope!!
Are you still planning to sail over to the west coast of Canada as part of your journey or are you intending to keep heading west? Please let us know if you hope to include British Columbia in your plans – our crusing grounds truly are stunning – very majestic and definitely cooler climate sailing than the Bahamas but at the same time world class scenery, very safe, and womderful things to do, see and explore. As always, our home is open to you all for as long as you need a base to stay while exploring out here with us.
