2010

Nordkaribik bis Anfang der Hurrican Season, dann USA Ostküste bis New Hampshire (Indian Summer) und wieder zurück via Florida Keys nach Kuba / Havanna

2011

Süd Kuba (Cayos), Karibik in südlicher Richtung, Venezuela, Panama Kanal, Mittelamerika Westküste

2012

Mexiko Westküste, Golf von Kalifornien, USA Westküste (Los Angeles, Grand Canyon, San Francisco), Vancouver / Kanada, Rocky Mountains bis Banff, weiter nach Hawaii

2013…

This is our sailing route around the world like we had planned it at the beginning. Actually, this is not right at all: First we don’t want arranged too much in advance and secondly the route is incomplete, viz. it ends in South Africa at the moment . With certainty we want to make ourselves dependent, from no narrow travel plan, we want to experience every place of our trip intensely and not again hurry further only to have seen everything. Rather see less and owing to circumstances also let out another “highlight”, however, take enough time for now and here. Moreover, we will take over and over again a timeout to take a break and to process the experienced. This planned route is not more than a temporary desirable image and we estimate the fact that this will still change quite often. In the early stages we are not able to estimate how long our trip will last generally.  For  this everything is still too new and strange to us. So as to say it with the words of our children: “… we must test this out!”.  We four members of the family have promised two things to us: if one of us should not really like it, or one of us becomes constantly seasick, or… then we will not continue the trip by force. However, we have also decided “to pull it through” at least during half a year!

Of course it needs basically a certain forwardplanning, because you cannot go on any area simply at every season, also not if one takes, as well as we do the  “easy” classical barefooted route. You can receive an excellent grounding in the book “Segelrouten der Welt” or “Segeln über Ozeane” by Jimmy Cornell, I can highly recommend, as many further of his books. The seminars, books and the Internet site  from Bobby Schenkare also very helpful.

Planned sailingroute

2009

Takeover of the Pacific High in the Lagoon shipyard (Bordeaux) at the end of March. To get to know the boat stay around two months in La Rochelle, to do alterations and to eradicate the childhood disease so far as possible. At the beginning of summer over the Bay of Biscay to Northspain, Portugal, to Lisbon. Further to Tangier and Casablanca  to be around in early autumn on the Canaries. Waiting for a favorable weather window for the Atlantic crossing to the Caribbean.

2010

The north Caribbean till the beginning of the Hurrican Season, then the USA east coast to New Hampshire (Indian summer) and back again via Florida Cays to Cuba / Havana

2011

The south Cuba (Cayos), the Caribbean in southern direction, Venezuela, Panama canal, Central America west coast

2012

Mexico west coast, gulf of California, the USA west coast (Los Angeles, Grand Canyon, San Francisco), Vancouver / Canada, Rocky Mountains to Banff, further towards Hawaii

2013…

The South Pacific, New Zealand, again the South Pacific, Australia, Asia, the Maldives, the Seychelles, Southafrica…

But now this is real only dreaming….
